Sydenham Camera Club welcomes all photographers

Digital tutorial
Tonight (1st Nov 07) Paul gave a more advanced lesson of Photoshop CS2 on the subject of sharpening. It would seem that there are many different ways to sharpen your photos and each technique can have a different effect. Paul helped to illustrate what tools were at hand to help with our fuzzy photos.

Enprint competition
Tonight was a chance for all members to submit their high street lab photos. The purpose of the enprint competition is to prove that whatever camera you have you can have a go and there is more to photography than fancy cameras and spending lots of money.

To make things fair too, the rules are that the prints must not have been digitally altered at home, but are simple straight from the camera shots.

Again we had a lot of entries; everything from toads, bridges, animals and people. A nice broad selection and Paul gave some fair and constructive criticism.

Paul is pictured at left with winners from top: Phillip Rennie, Richard Dare and Roger Tibbles.

We finished the night with Ross showing the club his Audio Visual slideshow which won the WCPF AV competition in the individual entry category. For your viewing pleasure you can see it here.

Next week
Next week will be one of my favourite subjects; an evening learning about using RAW with digital photography. Learn what amazing things you can do with this format.
