Tonight (3rd Jan 08) Paul talked about duo toning, quad toning and also masking in Photoshop. Rather than sticking to normal colour or black and white, it is possible to create interesting photos from selecting two or four colours and using them as your colour palette for your images. This can create some very unusual effects and it can be great fun to experiment with this technique. We were also shown how by masking we can hide or reveal different sections of our photos and / or effects.

Series of three and Set of three competitions
So a new year and some new competitions. I think these are probably the most interesting competitions to enter as the subject can be anything you choose. You can really get creative; what series would you have chosen? We had trains, beach scenes, Christmas snapshots as well as many others.

Mervin had gone out and photographed alien space ships. Ok, ok they were not real alien space ships (he couldn't get over to America for that, as that is where they all are apparently). But seriously, he had photographed street lighting, removed the poles and made the lamps look like alien transport, or UFOs to you and me. Very good Merv.
