Digital tutorial
Tonight (6th Mar 08) Ross expanded more on last weeks RAW session. There was so much to talk about that even with an extension from last week not all the points were covered. This evening Ross refreshed everyone on how to add to a RAW file's metadata such as your name and contact details. He also went on to explain how to process images and create contact sheets. Then it was a quick run through adjusting photos in Adobe Camera RAW using the different control sliders and widgets here and there.

WCPF print folio
Much like the previous two weeks, this evening we had a look at other peoples' work in the form of the WCPF print folio. This consisted of around 100 images (50 at a time with a break in between). A nice variety of images and it was only when you got up close that you could truly pass judgment on the quality of the work.

On the subject of quality, at the end Ken talked a little about papers and inks. There were a variety of papers used and no doubt printers to produce the images, but some stood out head and shoulders above the rest due to superior presentation and quality of paper. Unfortunately some of the prints had not been mounted very well and suffered from bubbles or scratches on the surface that were more apparent due to the use of glossy paper. Something to think about next time you present your work.

Next week...
We will be displaying photos of our home turf; Bridgwater, and discussing what we have found.
