Digital tutorial
Tonight (7th Feb 08) Paul showed us what can be done in Photoshop with borders and effects using the layer styles dialogue box. There are a myriad of options to choose from so Paul gave us a whistle stop tour of what is on offer. He also showed us how we can customise our brush to give different effects. Now all we need are some inspiring ideas.

Digital audio visual slideshows
All of us have seen a slideshow at some point, but the traditional technique of using film slides has gradually slipped away and has been replaced with digital images. Many advantages come with this medium. For example the slideshow can be timed easily to music, duplicated, it can be transported easily and it is not likely to be damaged when repeatedly viewed.

This evening Paul explained why some slideshows worked better than others and what sort of work was required to produce one. Your slideshow can be simple or complicated and have equal emotional effect. At the end of the day what's important is content as that is what holds the viewer's attention.

Luckily it is very simple to create a pleasing slideshow with modern software, but it is a good idea to try and go beyond the conventional and use Photoshop as an aid in the process of creating an innovative and captivating slideshow.
