CLUB NEWS

Keith Perry has been busy planning for next seasons competition subjects. This is what he's come up with:-

Sydenham Camera Club 2012/13yr Competition subjects

Standard Subjects

 2 Open Competition – Print & Digital,

I think these are important especially for the members who do not enter the specific category competitions. Plus it allows members to enter any good pictures they have which cannot be categorised elsewhere.

As agreed at the last AGM, one of the Portraiture and Natural History categories (Print or Digital, which will be rotated each year) will be taken over as a standard subject by Landscape and Sport/Movement.

Portraits – Digital    Has to be retained as there is a specific trophy for this subject.

Landscape - Print    New set subject, as agreed at the AGM

Natural History – Digital   Has to be retained as there is a specific trophy for this subject as well.

Sport/Movement - Print    New set subject, as agreed at the AGM

The new PRINT & DIGITAL subjects I would like to introduce are –

Print subjects -

Leisure Time - This could be anything from chilling out with friends at a barbeque to someone enjoying their hobby or pastime, such as fishing or punting down a river. The possibilities are endless.

Monochrome - I think we are not giving this subject enough time and thought, so I have made sure that this years programme incorporates some tuition and examples on Black & White images.

The Digital subjects –

Transport - Think of all the different modes of transport (Skates to a Jet Plane) and then the way they are used. There is also all the different things linked to transport, such as the energy needed to keep them going and the people involved with delivering  and maintaining transport.

Maturity – Don't just think of people ageing, think about things linked to maturity. Other things become mature as well, like cheese, wine and fruit.
